Academic and Experiential Learning Coach
The Academic and Experiential Learning Coach will join BPI’s New York City team during an exciting time to support youth in a juvenile detention center in Brooklyn, NY, to connect their education to their career goals. The student-centered, results-driven individual in this role will provide tutoring, mentoring, and career exploration support to the students. In collaboration with the student and using a strength-based and holistic approach, the Coach will strategize on ways to overcome barriers to students’ academic persistence and career success.
Associate Director, Wellness and Community Support
The Associate Director, Wellness and Community Support is responsible for fostering a culture prioritizing BPI students’ and alumni’s health and well-being. In this role, the Associate Director will conduct outreach and education, and provide support and wellness advising to students. The Associate Director will work closely with the NYC Programs, Reentry, and Microcollege teams to address student and alumni needs, provide advice and support, and ensure students have access to the appropriate resources internally and externally. This role will supervise a housing coordinator and housing specialist.
Bard Microcollege Tutors
The NYC Bard Microcolleges are accepting applications for full-time and part-time tutors on a rolling basis. Tutoring happens in person at Microcollege locations in Brooklyn and Harlem. Full-time and part-time positions are available.

A Ph.D. is required with scholarly discipline within the humanities; areas of expertise are open, with particular interest in candidates with experience in public humanities. The Paris Review Visiting Professor of Literature at BPI
The Paris Review Visiting Professorship at BPI is a one- or two-year position, beginning in the fall 2026 semester. A distinguished writer will join the Bard College community and teach the study of literature to students earning Bard College undergraduate degrees while incarcerated. The ideal candidate will be an emerging or established writer of fiction, poetry, plays, or literary nonfiction whose work has received critical recognition; will have published at least one but preferably two or more books; will have prior college teaching experience; and will excel in designing and teaching courses that inspire active participation from all students.
Faculty Positions
BPI and the Microcolleges offer small, seminar-style courses taught in person at the same standard of academic rigor as on the main campus. We seek faculty who excel in discussion-heavy courses that demand active participation of all students. Faculty are hired on a per-course basis and are responsible for their own transportation to and from the campuses where they teach.
