BPI’s newest campus at Albion Correctional Facility, a medium-security women’s prison,  is now open!
This spring, BPI extended a warm welcome to the inaugural cohort, who began their Bardian careers this spring, immersing themselves in the traditional Language and Thinking workshop and utilizing the new college computer lab.
After L&T, they enrolled in Introduction to Anthropology, Reading to Write, and Reading Poetry in the 21st Century, taught by faculty from the nearby schools of Hobart and William Smith Colleges, University at Buffalo, and Rochester Institute of Technology.
Moving forward, students at Albion will enroll in the full range of BPI coursework, working toward both AA and BA degrees, creating access to the Bard BA for women for the first time.

BPI Campus Locations

We Are Hiring!

Located between Buffalo and Rochester, Albion is far from our other campuses in the Hudson Valley, and we’re pleased to be reaching out to a new pool of potential faculty in Western New York State.

BPI offers small, seminar-style courses taught in person at the same standard of academic rigor as on the main campus. We seek experienced faculty who excel in discussion-heavy courses that demand active participation of all students.

Qualifications

For most but not all subject areas, a Ph.D. or other applicable terminal degree is required (PhD candidates that are ABD may be hired in certain circumstances). Applicants must have college teaching experience in their field of expertise, and ideally a record of teaching success.
