Developing a STEM Curriculum

The full spectrum of a liberal arts education includes mathematics and the natural sciences. This workshop will talk about challenges and strategies for building out STEM course offerings, including the curriculum to bring students from pre-college level math into advanced mathematics and the BA degree in mathematics, BPI’s Citizen Science,  science curriculum and the development of biology concentration, how programs can innovate to offer science labs in prison, and, in a landscape of limited technology, what computer science and coding coursework can look like. The cohort will strategize around common challenges such as correctional restrictions, faculty recruitment, and the question of scale and capacity in diversifying course offerings.
