Jac Arnade-Colwill
Jac Arnade-Colwill (they/he) is a Program Coordinator at the Kenan Institute for Ethics at Duke University, where they facilitate programs including the Prison Engagement Initiative. They studied comparative literature and have been involved in anti-prison work for 6 years in a variety of areas and places, including prison education (in Hawaiʻi and England), court advocacy (in NYC), policy-oriented nonprofit work (in NYC), and the public humanities (in Hawaiʻi). Now, in North Carolina, they work with the Prison Engagement Initiative to establish a cross-disciplinary initiative at Duke that aims to shape relational networks of learning and change with people impacted by prison. One of the goals of the initiative is to explore the potential for a robust education program for incarcerated students possibly along with students at Duke’s Trinity College of Arts & Sciences.
